For many entrepreneurs and small businesses, social media can be an absolute game-changer! All it takes is one viral post and a business can suddenly take off.
At Like A Voss Social Media, we’re highlighting local businesses and entrepreneurs who are killing the online game. This week’s spotlight is on Jessika Luise, Owner of J Does Brows!
Our CEO Mandi interviewed Jess about her secret to success in business and in life. We also got some awesome insights into what they think makes social media such an effective tool in business. The two actually connected on Instagram when Mandi moved to Campbell River and was looking for a new brow queen to keep her brows gorgeous.
A Little Bit About Being a Female Entrepreneur
1: How long have you been in business?
Officially, only since summer 2020.
2: What made you decide to start your own business?
When I found my love for eyebrows I had just left a high-end spa job, I continued to do eyebrow services for my friends and family. I loved helping people feel good and always wanted to be able to work for myself so I realized I should definitely continue it into a business.
3: What do you love most about being a female entrepreneur?
Working for myself, setting my own hours, meeting new people!
4: What is the hardest thing you have had to overcome as a female entrepreneur?
Second guessing yourself. It’s hard seeing all the competition out there and wondering if you’re good enough.
5: What is one thing about working in the esthetics industry that people would be surprised to learn?
The esthetics industry can be extremely tough mentally.
And Now Onto The Social Media Questions!
6: Do you have a favorite social media platform? Why?
Instagram definitely! Because I love how it brings businesses together, even if you’re not in the same city. And seeing some travel photography in general since I love to travel!
7: What made you decide to start using social media as a way to promote your company?
It’s a nice way to show people your progress and your journey in your business, regardless of how big or small.
8: How has social media impacted your business? Would you say that it’s an effective marketing tool?
Definitely effective, I never expected to gain all the clients I have now in such a short period of time 💜 Grateful for everyone who has trusted me with my services!
9: What advice would you give to other businesses and entrepreneurs who want to use social media as a way to connect with customers?
Don’t be afraid! Start small if you need to, but keep going , keep engaging and reaching out when you can, it will be worth it!
